Audit the document library to determine which documents are candidates for processing by examining each document’s searchability status and the document library’s processing settings.

OCR Software

Searchlight’s optical character recognition (OCR) technology creates a text version of the file contents.

Monitor and Schedule

Automate the document monitoring process by allowing Searchlight OCR to scan the document library and automatically handle new and updated documents.

Metadata Tagging

Multi-Language Support

Searchlight OCR is compatible with more than 100 different languages, including Asian, Arabic, Farsi, and Hebrew languages. The extended OCR engine supports multiple languages within a single document from the same alphabet, e.g. French, German, and Italian.

PDF Compression

Images in the output PDF file can be compressed using JBIG2 (for black and white images) or MRC (for color images). This dramatically reduces the output size of PDFs and reduces the size of your SharePoint library.

Reporting

Generate scheduled reports and receive email alerts about the latest updates to your SharePoint library. Get a summary of the library status as a whole or details about specific job runs.

FAQ

Are There Any GDPR Issues?

For on-premises SharePoint you would install Searchlight on an on-premises server - communication is made between Searchlight and your on-prem SharePoint via standard Microsoft APIs and the document processing is performed on the server where Searchlight is installed.

So no data will leave the premises at all hence there is no GDPR issue.

For SharePoint Online/Office365: installing Searchlight on an Azure VM ensures all the data transfer occurs within the Microsoft cloud.

No data is sent to any Aquaforest server and we will not see your data.

Is Aquaforest Searchlight supported on Virtual machines?

Yes, all our products are supported on virtual machines including Azure and Oracle VM virtual box.

Searchlight 365 is a fully managed SaaS product where the product is installed and maintained by us.

Furthermore, Searchlight is available as a VM package in the Azure Marketplace.

What is included in the Subscription price?

The Subscription Price includes comprehensive support and maintenance cover for the duration of the subscription.

What is included in the license price?

For Subscription Licenses, we provide support and maintenance while the subscription is active.

What is the definition of a Core?

The number of cores licensed determines how many CPU cores the software can use concurrently. As a rough guide, the software can process 1,000 pages per hour per CPU core although this will vary according to a number of factors.

Can we purchase additional Cores and Modules?

If your requirements change during the use of the product and you require additional Cores or another Module we can simply upgrade your license with the difference in price.

Can you install and configure Aquaforest Searchlight for us?

One of our expert engineers can install and configure Aquaforest Searchlight to meet your requirements via a remote session. It is normally straightforward and takes between 15 and 30 minutes.

Do you provide product training?

Let us know if you would like us to provide training via remote session on any aspect of the product.

Standalone Installation

Aquaforest Searchlight is installed on a machine of your choice, separate from the SharePoint server.

Local or Cloud Implementation
